RELEASING THE POWER OF MCAFEE CONSOLE ANTIVIRUS

Console antivirus can not work like common antivirus that work real time and anytime while operating system work. It has to be started by user. Most of antivirus has common weakness that can not access any file that protected by the the operating system. 

One of the solution for complete scan without blocked by the system is by using the other system. I offer you solution by using bootable windows on CD. One of them is Mini Windows Xp. Using Mini Windows Xp will let your antivirus access all files on your drive, without any blocking action from original operating system.

You can download Mini Windows Xp or using Mini Windows Xp on Hirens Boot CD, or you can also using Windows Live on CD, you can also boot via USB drive installed Hirens Boot CD or Windows Xp Live on CD. All of those stuff can be downloaded from 4shared or any other file hosting and sharing sites.

First Step: 

Copy your McAfee antivirus folder that you have extracted to your hard drive. Insert your mini Windows bootable CD to your computer's optic drive. Restart your PC. Go to BIOS to set the boot sequence devices make sure that your optic drive has higher priority than your harddisk. Save your setting on BIOS and let the PC boot the Windows on CD.

Second Step :

When Windows on CD or USB device has finished booting, make sure you have enough virtual memory to run the antivirus. To set the virtual memory, open the windows explorer then right click on  My Computer Icon, click properties. On properties window, choose the advance tab than click setting button on perfomance menu. On performance window choose the advance tab again then click the change button, and then click on custom size radio button, fill the blank initial size and maximum size field than click set.

Third Step :

Run the SCAN.exe as i wrote before. Blocked files will be accessed by the scanner. This method will give you better result of virus removing because the files that no more blocked by your default operating system.

Using McAfee Free Console Antivirus For Windows

You will get this show on your console when running file scan.exe from your console :

Aditional parameters short explanations  will be listed in two pages. And automatically quit from scan.exe. We can use the additonal parameter listed below as necessary. Without any parameter, the scanner will not run. It will just show the paramater like my picture above.

 Parameter should be use the specified format :

Scan [object 1] [object 2] ... [option 1] [option 2]

for example, you want to scan entire harddisk with out removable, use : 

Scan   /adl

you want to scan entire disk, use : 

Scan   /ad

you want to scan entire drive E & F only, use :

Scan   E: F:

you want to scan all files on  drive E & F , use :

Scan   E: F:  /all 

you want to scan all files on  drive E & F and automatically clean the viruses from files, use:

Scan   E: F:  /all  /clean

you want to scan all files on  drive E & F and automatically clean the viruses from files with using heuristic for files and macros, use:

Scan   E: F:  /all  /clean /analyze

you want to scan all files on  drive E & F and automatically clean the viruses from files with using heuristic for files and macros and you want a report file in html format with the file named report.html, use:

Scan   E: F:  /all  /clean /analyze /html report.html

basically you can use variation of options and objects on your console command based on the list of options generated by the scan.exe files by typing

Scan

on your console.

McAfee Free Console Anti Virus For Windows

PC with Windows always deal with viruses. There are many kind of methods, brands of antivirus for windows. One of them is McAfee. One of famous Antivirus in the world.

McAfee is not free, but McAfee provide some cool stuffs to be used freely, it can be directly downloaded from their site. Some of them are antivirus updater SDAT or xDAT and Antivirus Scan Engine.
Here I am going to explain how to use them as a free powerful antivirus from McAfee. I will also explain how to make update for this kind of McAfee free console antivirus.

By this kind of antivirus, we can make scan and repair and files and use some options that can be used with McAfee scan engine.  Update can always be done by using the latest SDAT or xDAT files   that McAfee always release them periodically.

Firstly, get the complete McAfee Shell antivirus from here (directly from Mcafee but not always avaiable) or here (from ziddu) , this file consist of McAfee shell/console scan engine for windows. Secondly, get the latest SDAT or xDat file. You can grab it from here .
Download all off those files and put each file in folders. For example Scan Engine in folder engine,  xDat in folder xDat or anything else. If you download from ziddu, extract it first, because it is in zip format.

To extract the scan engine file 5400eng.exe, open DOS command Console, Start > Run > type "CMD".
Type CD "your folder"
Type 5400eng.exe /e
When your file extracted, see the result in windows explorer windows !!!

Do the same thing to the xDat files or the sDat Files you have downloaded, and extract the the xDat or xDat file. Open DOS command Console, Start > Run > type "CMD".

Type CD "your folder"

Type (your sDAT or xDAT file).exe /e  >>> example 6473xDat.exe /e

Wait for your files completly extracted. It would be  like this :

Now, find three files AVVSCAN.DAT, AVVNAMES.DAT and AVVCLEAN.DAT. Rename each files of them become SCAN.DAT, NAMES.DAT and CLEAN.DAT, then copy and paste these files to the 5400eng.exe extraction folder.
Now, you can test the Free McAfee Console Anti Virus by typing in DOS Console
> Scan.exe (press enter)
or you can double click file SCAN.EXE
you should get this....

If you get this view, means you have the McAfee Free Console Antivirus. Be Ready to use it....
